Spotlight on "Fashion's Biggest Night Out"

    the Met Gala 2017!

As usual, the Met Gala brings us an array of fashion icons who "Bring it!" (flashback to

2015- Rihanna in that dreamy regal Yellow couture gown by Guao Pei,) and others who

may just utterly miss the mark. It is however, undeniably one of the biggest star studded

    fashion nights out.

This year the Met Gala honored Rei Kawakubo, with the Comme des Garcons theme.

We were definitely in awe, once again of Rihanna who reigns as queen of the night.

Rocking an avant garde look from the themed designer- Comme des Garcons 2016 fall

collection, Rihanna managed to land best dressed and is of course the topic of all blogs!

We have picked a few of our favorite looks, who on theme or not on theme, landed

in our favorite looks of the Met Gala 2017. We hope you agree with us!

    Squad Goals

"When worst comes to worst, squad comes first!" I don't know who came up with that

quote, but when I found it I was totally inspired. I've been thinking a lot about

homecoming dresses and seeing a lot of "promposals" on social media over the last few

months. It got me thinking, is a date a necessary part of a fantastic homecoming, prom,

party, etc. Edna Buchanan once said, "Friends are the family we choose for ourselves."

and I couldn't agree more. I think hanging with the squad is way more fun than

anything else! So take a note from Taylor Swift and rule the night with your squad!

Faviana understands exactly what we mean, this week they released the amazing

empowering images below which illustrate this point perfectly!

Our Faves from the Met Gala 2016

As lovers of fashion we look forward to the red carpet at the annual Met Gala every year!

This year we actually had the opportunity to go to the red carpet and get a birdseye view

of the action. The theme this year was "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of

Technology," which explored the relatshionship between hand made and machine made

clothing. The red carpet was filled with hand embroidered dresses and technological

wonders. Our top pick had to be Claire Danes in a demure Zach Posen ball gown

encrusted with thousands of LED lights. We also picked Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace,

Zendaya in Micheal Kors, Sarah Jessica Parker in Monse, Taylor Swift in Louis Vuitton,

and Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa. Enjoy!

    NYFW Thomas Wylde

    #NYFW New York Fashion Week

    With NewYorkDress and Olga Parkers

Fashion never sleeps and certainly a little snow didn't frighten the magnitude of stylists,

editors, photographers, bloggers and celebrities strutting toward their seats for the

Thomas Wylde Fall/Winter 2016 Runway show during NYFW.

The venue was all the historical glamour, situated inside the Skylight at Moynihan

Station Postal?Office. The interior arrangement was quite pristine, with a TRESemmé

hair bar - in case one needs a quick blow-dry restyling before the next show. An "E!"

sponsored interactive runway where everyone can record, email and share their 8

seconds of runway spotlight.  While waiting for the Thomas Wylde show to begin, I

relaxed and sipped on a tall glass of water in a press designated lounge, vibrantly

decorated with framed provocative editorials of supermodels Kate Moss, Joan Smalls,

Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington. I felt like I was sitting in my dream living

room decorated with lush contemporary decor provided courtesy of Fendi Casa, with

exotic fur covered sofas, pillows in zebra and bright yellow rabbit skins.

Once inside the "The Dock" the fashion show was soon to begin: the lights dimmed,

high-energy music started to play and the first model emerged with a so much passion in

her walk one could feel her energy across the room. She was wearing a vibrant crimson

fur-collared cashmere cape. The new Thomas Wylde "90291" & "Through the Looking

Glass" Capsule collection - collaboration with Walt Disney was definitely something out

of a fairy tale.  I loved the collection which followed a "Red, White and Black" color

scheme, and included menswear tailored coats with embellished sleeves, capes, and

cocktail dresses with plunging V neckline. The models clad in the eclectic glamorous

collection emerged one by one for the runway finale. They paced down the runway

together as the audience applauded the designer as she bowed in gratitude at the head of

    the runway.

After the show I went backstage and was happy to meet the creative director of Thomas

Wylde – Jene Park. I compliment her on the incredible designs, collection and show.

Jene Park was quite bubbly, excited and thrilled at the response she received, giving

interviews to press and posing for photos. The event was star studded including

attending celebrities Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussycat Dolls, Olivia Culpo, Nicky

Hilton, Chantel Jeffries, Karrueche Tran, Jane Notar whom all came to show their

support wearing designs from the Thomas Wylde collection.

It was an amazing treat to attend the Thomas Wylde show - a Special Thank you to for this treat. NYFW is always such an exciting and thrilling time of

the year, during which all the fashion devotees and professionals come together in

celebration and support of the new collections. I will admit NYFW feels like New Years

Eve, but better because it happens twice a year and the thrill can be relived with each

    collection shown.

    Happy Fashion Week darlings!

    Valentines Day with Olga Parkers
    Friday February 12, 2016 7 Comments

    Happy Valentine's Day

From NewYorkDress and Olga Parkers Jewelry

That crisp February day when: florists get dozens upon dozens of orders for a "Dozen

Red Roses", the taste of chocolate covered strawberries is on everyone's mind,

champagne is sparkling away in tall flutes and city dwellers are either coupled walking

hand-in-hand to candlelight dinners or hosting sarcastically humorous "anti-love"

parties. That day is none other than Valentine's Day!

I love a fun festive holiday, and as many of you know I love to get dressed up accordingly.

My favorite color is definitely red and so the occasion calls for a 'Dress to Impress'

ensemble and a charming companion to accompany me to a Valentine’s Day evening.

I called upon my good friend to join me in the V-Day festivities so we could brave

    the love struck crowd together.

My friend arrived to find me pondering over the various jewelry options I can pair with

my drop-dead gorgeous MADISON JAMES mermaid gown in the most vivid Lipstick red

color. I wanted to highlight the prominent Sweetheart neckline - so I first opted for the

"Cleopatra Gold Tassel Necklace" from my OLGA PARKERS JEWELRY collection. After

careful evaluation in the mirror and some very helpful advice from my friend - I decided

that the "Gothic Neckcollar" in Hematite Gunmetal would be best. I paired it with my

newest "Wrap Bead Bracelets" and stackable "Black Widow rings".

The strapless MADISON JAMES gown was so stunningly exuberant. The mermaid

silhouette, as pronounced as it was still conveyed elegance and utter chic simplicity. I

especially admired the beaded waist detail which lead to a full floor length skirt. All I can

think of was the iconic film "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and yes I felt ever-so-slightly like a

    modern day Audrey Hepburn.

The Valentine's Day festivities awaited and so with the sun setting over the skyscraper

horizon of New York we were off to embrace the Valentine's Day evening.

After all, Valentine's Day is about appreciating love of all kinds, so spend the evening

with your Bae or great friends! Dress up in your finest and find some champagne with

    strawberries to savor.

    XOXO, Olga Parkers

The Art Scene with Olga Parkers

One of the many reasons I love fashion is due to the endless styling possibilities that can

be created around an important dress. By accessorizing correctly with some chic

accessories, such as shoes, jewelry and makeup, one dress can be worn on various

    occasions to different events.

My favorite dress of the season was a sophisticated strapless dress by Sherri Hill, I loved

this dress so much that I could not keep it hidden in my closet. Luckily, I had some

glamorous events to attend: one being a Wedding Reception and an Art Gallery

Exhibition Reception of artist Morgan Fisher at Bortolami Gallery. Both events were on

the same day so I strategically had to style the dress so that it would translate from the

fashionable Art Scene Reception to the formal Wedding reception in an outdoor garden,

    all the while looking flawless.

To accessorize, I selected a gorgeous Faux-fur shawl in a pastel pale blush shade, which

was several shades lighter from the Silver, Beige and pearl-like neutral color scheme of

the dress but looked sensational layered together. The shoes were very important to

complete this look so I opted for a beige suede stiletto pump with silver crystal details,

which matched the undertones of the dress ever so slightly. Picture 1930’s glamour,

adorned with luxurious textures of various lace, crystals, plush suede all beautiful in

unison. The styled outfit was indeed ideal for both occasions: I re-positioned the shawl in

different ways around my shoulders during the wedding for a luxe evening look, and

draped over one shoulder for the day gallery reception.

The overall styled look was very light and pretty, so I decide that slender jewelry would

be best. I wore the Marie Antoinette Tassel Necklace from the Olga Parkers Jewelry

Collection, in a Rose gold and Gunmetal finish styling to loop the tassels through center

of bead strand lariat. The rings I wore, were ever so slightly placed on three fingers, each

with a couple of midi Black Widow rings. As for the makeup I created an intense Smokey

eye with bronze eye shadow finishing with black liner, volumizing mascara and blush

pink lips. My manicure was a dusty lavender polish.

I loved my outfit and the Sherri Hill dress so much I didn’t want the night to end. I

received numerous compliments on the dress and the accessories. The ‘Gatsby inspired -

modern day fashionista’ look flawlessly transitioned to both events. This look can be

worn to many other events, such as a homecoming, a birthday celebration or a New

Year’s celebration. I guess I’ll have to find other events to attend so I can flaunt the

    gorgeous little dress.

    A Gothic Masquerade

    A Gothic Masquerade!

I received an invitation to a Venetian Masquerade Ball. The dress code: strictly requiring

masks, the venue: mysteriously somewhere in New York City only to be revealed the day

of the Ball. I was overwhelmed by excitement and began to plan my attire. My vision was

to look like an exquisite flapper-girl from a Gatsby banquet with influences from the

    Phantom of the Opera.

Being a fashion enthusiast I was beyond excited! I love to dress up for all occasions,

especially so for a glamorous Masquerade Ball. This invitation was especially dear to me

    - as I starred in the Fashion feature film in promotion for this Venetian Masquerade Ball.

I was so proud to have my handcrafted Tassel Lariat Necklaces and rings from the

OLGA PARKERS JEWELRY Collection highlighted in the film.

I immediately scouted for a mask but not just any mask, something authentic to the

theme. I found the perfectly flattering laser-cut mask in Black Gunmetal with crystal

details and scalloped edges. The mask was cleverly concealing just enough to make my

identity nearly unrecognizable, while revealing skin beneath and accentuating my eyes

    creating a sultry cat-eye.

On my quest to find The Dress - I came across a breathtaking black Scala slender gown,

delicately beaded with black and silver sequins in an Art-Deco fashion. I instantly fell in

love with the long length, the revealing back and the deep V necklines, edges outlined in

linear silver sequins further accentuating the décolleté. I have always found backless

silhouettes to be extremely flattering to all body types. The backless neckline was very

modestly sexy, flattering and above all extremely Elegant. The gown fit perfectly over my

curvy physique, the ornate lines of the beading elongating and slenderizing. I love how

glamorous and extravagant it looked! The style was ideal and just what I had envisioned!

The day of the Masquerade Ball - I selected from my box of OLGA PARKERS

treasures the Grand Gothic Ash Tassel Necklace in metallic gunmetal. The

long length of the necklace allowed for folding the lariat in half and delicately

intertwining the beads before looping the tassel ends through the middle creating a

necktie. The matte and metallic texture of the dark Gunmetal Hematite beads

complimented the glimmering beads on the dress. The necklace ever so gracefully

positioned in the middle in my décolleté, framed by the silver edging on the extravagant

Scala gown. I selected several midi-rings to wear on each hand for a delicately poised

look, stacking the blackened Silver Black Widow rings alongside the yellow gold Square

    shank rings.

My makeup look was inspired by the style of vintage Hollywood Starlets. I made sure my

complexion was porcelain-like, contouring where appropriate and highlights along the

brow arch, top of cheekbones, and cupids bow of my lips for an extra glow. I focused on

my eyes by creating a winged cat eye over natural tone eye shadows and volumizing

mascara. I finished the look by painting a red pout using a crimson matte shade lipstick

    from YSL.

To complete the look I wore a pair of black patent leather stiletto pumps, sky high of

course and a matching miniature black clutch to enclose my lipstick, compact mirror and

perfume. The evening felt like a Whimsical Fairytale and I, Cinderella, attending a Ball,

except the banquet would continue past the midnight hours and I was swept away in a

black limousine. Dreams Do Come True!

    That Cinderella Feeling

    That Cinderella Feeling!

I live for the days where you get to get up early, get your hair and makeup done, and slip

into a beautiful gown to go to a party. It makes me feel so nostalgic - like I'm back in my

princess PJs and I'm watching Cinderella for the first time. Nothing comes close to when

you look at yourself in the mirror after you're all dolled up and all you can do is twirl

around. I love that feeling and I just long for those invites to weddings or birthday

parties were I can get all dressed up!

For me - Fall is a season of new beginnings. As a recent graduate, I find it extremely hard

not to miss homecoming season or even the prospect of some balls and events in the

early months of school! I, also, have a few co-workers and friends that are getting

hitched this year which is always an excuse to buy a dress and a new pair of shoes! But

honestly I think I stumbled upon a winner with this Sherri Hill two-piece. It has such an

elegant sweep train and the most beautiful beadwork that I just couldn't pass it up. I

actually wore something extremely similar to this dress in a navy blue color with a slit on

the side for my graduation party. BOTH of these Sherri Hill dresses make you look and

    feel like a princess.

    Date Night with MissLaur

Hi everyone! I'm Laur from Ever since I was little girl I've always

been into dress up and when I started dance classes - I felt like my whole world took a

turn for the better. From the tutu skirts to the awesome leotards we got to wear - I was

truly in Heaven. This was one of the main reasons I started my own blog. It was my

outlet to share my love of fashion and beauty with my friends, family and readers. I

remember buying my quinceanera dress, my junior and senior prom dresses, and even

the dress I wore to the launch of my bakery from!

I usually go on NewYorkDress's site at least two times a week but one day I saw this

particular piece. There is just something so powerful about pearls and polka dots! I

couldn't help but be mesmerized by this cute and chic Sherri Hill two-piece. What I love

about this two-piece is that it is a go-to piece for a wedding (because of the details),

birthday party (because of the polka dots) and even a date night. I'm definitely the type

of girl that loves to get dressed up no matter the occasion so I wore this for a date night

at one of my favorite restaurants - Waterside Restaurant - along the waterfront that has a

perfect view of the city. I paired it with a vintage Coach purse I found in my mom's closet

and a few jewelry pieces from TJ Maxx! Everyone was complimenting me on how

delicate the top was with the pearls and how chic the skirt was. They could NOT believe

    that they were a pair!

    Hot Homecoming Trends

As August approaches we're gearing up for Homecoming 2015. The fall collections have

already started appearing and we're here to divulge the top three trends for this

    homecoming season.

    Flirty in Florals

Florals are back big time! Designers like Sherri Hill, Hannah S, Rachel Allan, Angela and

Alison, and La Femme know this super girly pattern is the perfect choice. Pair with soft

hair and makeup to keep the print the center of attention.

    Crop the Mic

For the second season in a row every designer is featuring the crop-top trend. It adds a

youthful edginess to even a demure style. With this trend go all out with dramatic hair,

makeup, or accessories...just not all three at once.

    Fifties Flare

Whether it's a tea-length or mini dress you can't go wrong with a little vintage

inspiration. A full fifties flared skirt is all the rage for a slightly more sophisticated look.

Our tip, don't be too literal keep the rest of the look modern for a well rounded, and

    thought-out look.

    Our Favorite Prints for Fall

A friend once told me "Prints are personal!" And she was right, everyone has their own

personal opinions on what they like and what they don't. Now that fall is around the

corner, for some reason, we're having an affinity for prints. Our favorites are brocade,

polka dots, and florals. In this post I'll show you some of my favorites of each. Enjoy, and

    have a "printastic" season!

    A Frozen Summer

    A Frozen Summer

The white dress by La Femme is a classic, no matter what the weather, but in the

Summer it is definitely one of my favourite choices of colour. This stunning white two

piece is absolutely perfect for any occasion, whether it be prom, an evening out or just

having a stroll down the beach after dinner on holiday.

The long, white skirt flows beautifully in the breeze, while the rhinestone encrusted bodice

with lace detailing adds a touch of luxury to the outfit, and makes it truly special. I felt a

little bit like Elsa from Frozen while wearing this, although unfortunately an icy

background was not available. So I went for an ‘Elsa in the Summer’ kind of look, with

bohemian hair and a backdrop of ancient trees.

This dress is absolutely timeless and remains perfect for any event throughout the

changing seasons, whether you choose to wear it surrounded by flowers in the Spring

or by snow in the Winter.

    A Belle in France

    A Belle in France

Or: How to attend a black tie wedding

Black tie weddings can be difficult to navigate in terms of attire, so

its best to go with the classic rules of wedding etiquette when

choosing what to wear. The term 'black tie' can be applied for

weddings taking place from 6pm onward, and the standard attire for

a woman is a floor-length gown - even if there is still plenty of

daylight. An exception to this might be an extremely formal tea-

length dress covered in sequins or beads, but I would always err on

    the side of a gown.

A recent trip to France culminated in a black-tie wedding at a

chateau outside of Paris. - it was an amazing experience! I wore this

most beautiful red dress by Nicole Bakti that totally fulfilled my all

my wildest dreams of old Hollywood glamour. For this occasion I

chose to complete the look with simple silver stilettos, vintage

rhinestone earrings, red lips and side-swept curls.

Next time I wear it - that's right, I will definitely get a second wear

out of this beauty - I imagine going with a very dark smokey eye,

nude lips, and deep jewel-toned accessories in either emerald or

lapis. Nude platform pumps would be perfect to complete that look

and maybe a sleek, flat-ironed low ponytail, too. I can't wait!

Finding the perfect dress for this wedding could've been really

difficult. I started wanting something red and with a bit of coverage

for my upper arms (I'm a bit insecure about them). I quickly found a

few options, added them to my favorites and then narrowed them

down from there. Quite simple and fun, really!

I only hope I find more fancy friends who have black tie weddings so I can start

    shopping for my next gown!

    Modern My Fair Lady

    Modern My Fair Lady

I have always had a passion for musicals, and one of my all time favourites has to be My

Fair Lady starring the incomparable Audrey Hepburn. No matter how hard you try, once

you’ve seen it you will never forget the scene at the racetrack when a completely

transformed Eliza Doolittle enters in that extravagant black and white gown, complete

with giant hat. This stunning ballgown, by Sherri Hill, made me feel like Audrey for a

moment, recreating that classic scene in a modern, yet timelessly elegant way. The two

piece makes it a little different, with the bodice encased in beautiful black gems. While

the skirt is made from layers upon layers of petticoats, to add a real princess feel.

We shot these photos on the beautiful Brighton Bandstand, famed for it’s elegance and

beauty, and I felt it was the perfect location to capture such a magnificent dress. It really

is modern My Fair Lady all over! All I need now is a gigantic hat and I could be off to the

    Cocktails in Morocco

    Cocktails in Morocco

This amazing Scala beaded nude dress was perfect for a semi-formal cocktail party. I

wore it to a Moroccan- themed rehearsal dinner at a wedding in France! A pair of simple

silver stilettos complimented the beads and sequins and let all the attention focus on the

detailed bead work. It looks like you're wearing a dress made of metal!

This dress would also pair really well with this season's gladiator sandal trend - go for a

high-heeled style to keep it dressy.

My favorite thing about this dress is that it's full coverage yet incredibly sexy. The nude

fabric blends well over skin, making it look like your body is covered and draped in

sparkles. The long sleeves cover up your arms if they're not your favorite body part,

while the shorter hem shows off your legs.

The best part of the night? Hearing this over and over again: "That dress! Wow - you

look amazing. Like Marilyn Monroe, Happy Birthday Mr. President amazing."

    The Homecoming LBD!

It’s very rare that I find a dress that makes me feel like an absolute Disney

princess, but this stunning number by La Femme hit the nail right on the

head. Words cannot describe how much I am in love with this dress. With

prom, homecoming, and graduation happening all over the world, the

season’s trends appear around little black dresses and sparkling minis. This

one combines the two for the best of both worlds; beautifully crafted with

layers upon layers of petticoats, topped with intricate black lace and

twinkling diamonds. Not only is this dress stunning, but it’s also incredibly

comfortable. I know I didn’t want to take it off, not only because I felt so

glamorous in it, but also because it felt so fantastic to wear. We took photos

in the dress down in the gorgeous English countryside in the wondrous

Stanmer House; a beautiful, historic building in the Sussex Downs.

Wearing this dress in such a beautiful old building really felt like I was

stepping into a novel where a fantastic ball might take place.

    Pantone Color Report

Each year Pantone releases a color report full of wonderful tidbits on what colors will be

trending each season. For summer we picked three of our favorite colors, Aquamarine,

Classic Blue, and Glacier Gray. Keep scrolling to find out why these are THE colors to

    wear this summer!

Aquamarine: This color reminds us of a tropical vacation with fruity drinks, palm trees, and

beautiful clear turquoise water! Not only is it bright and vibrant, it also looks great with any skin

tone, and as your summer tan builds so will your affinity for this chic hue!

Styles Featured: Terani 151P0113, Mignon VM1480, Mon Cheri 115963

Classic Blue: Sometimes called "Sailor Blue" classic blue reminds us of just that...sailing. This

staple color is perfect to bring a little peace to the hectic summer nights because psycologically

it's a cool calming shade. The word classic is perfectly apropos!

Styles Featured: Coya Collection CL1420, Janique K6474, Lara 42419

Glacier Gray: On hot nights, and days too, a shade like this makes perfect sense. The icy cold tone

plays a trick on your mind to lower your body temperature. Who wouldn't love that? This pale gray

has undertones of blue and bronze up, it's all about contrast!

Styles Featured: Terani 151M0357, JMac Duggal 61866D, Dave and Johnny 444

    Misty Copeland: Ballerina On Pointe!

What little girl doesn't dream of becoming a ballerina when they grow up? We're feeling

very inspired by Misty Copeland, who became the first black principal dancer for

the American Ballet Theater. Copeland oozes grace and masterful technique on stage, so it

isn't surprising that the fresh faced dancer serves up some stylish choices on the red

Whether she's dressed in full on sequins or a crisp column gown, Misty clearly has a

penchant for figure-framing gowns. We narrowed down some of Misty's best red carpet

looks thus far and paired them with some of our own gowns. We can't wait to see what

the future holds for Misty, both on and off the stage.

    Pretty in Pink at Cannes!

Miranda Kerr was pretty in pink at this year's Cannes Film

Festival. The Victoria's Secret model chose a sweet, yet sassy gown

that compliments her figure and the bright backdrop. Kerr arrived

to celebrate her partnership with Magnum Pink & Black ice cream.

This explains the delicious, strawberry hue! She looks stunning in

an evening gown with soft draping and a plunging neckline. Our hot

pink match comes courtesy of La Femme fashion. The silhouette is

similar with a few additional details. It makes a perfect prom dress

or an option for wedding season. To create a stand-out pout, pair

red lip with a pink gown (just like Kerr)!

Top 5 Fashion Favorites From the

    Billboard Music Awards 2015

Surprisingly this year's fashion was less than exciting. Sure, some

stars brought it, but too many stayed safe at an award show for this

year's best music! Our top five looks were glamorous and fabulous in

different ways. These stars pushed the envelope for a dramatic red

carpet look. Cute couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend were perfection

from head to toe, while Taylor Swift joined Teigen in a battle of the

jumpsuits. Kendall Jenner stood out in a bold beaded look with slicked

back hair, while Rita Ora and Jlo went ultra-glam. Both ladies wore

long evening gowns with unique, revealing details. Stay tuned for a

    few MatchMaker surprises!

It-girl Zoe Kravitiz looks totally chic in this crisp white gown. The

silhouette is soft and elegant, while the cutout details add a sultry

element to her look. Kravitz wore the evening gown to this year's Cannes

Film Festival. Our match by Mignon hits all the right notes and comes in

a variety of colors. We're partial to the beautiful blue hue. The color

is lovely and pops against nearly every skin-tone. Whether you're headed

to prom or a red carpet event, this dress is the solution to the problem,

"What should I wear?" You have your answer!

Telemundo star Yarel Ramos stunned in not one, not two, but three

fabulous Mac Duggal dresses. She wore a variety of looks for this

year's Latin Billboard Music Awards. A previous fan of this designer,

Ramos knew Mac Duggal was a safe bet for a glam event. Her first

look was a colorful two-piece, perfect for the spring season. After

that, she broke out the glitter for an after-hours look. Her last red

carpet dress was lacy and dramatic. Click the photos to take you to

each dress! Host of NBC6, Roxanne Vargas also wore Mac Duggal to

this event. She picked an elegant white gown paired with a shiny gold

    Met Gala After-Party

The Met Gala was full of unique, luxury fashion, but the after-party

is where celebs broke out their best cocktail dresses. We love Allison

Williams in a textured red dress. Our Dave and Johnny match is more

formal in detail, but just as sassy. Actress Liu Wen went simple chic

in a little black dress with a deep V-neckline. Juan Carlos Pinera up-ed

the glamour with a floor-sweeping hem. Joan Smalls made an entrance

in bold animal print while our shimmering match will have you saying,

"Rowr." Last, but not least, is makeup artist Gucci Westman in a modest

silver gown. She looks especially elegant in silver.

pink dress on her recent trip to New England. The Mac Duggal design

looked fantastic as she attended the Rhode Island State Competition.

As the current Miss United States, Safrit previously wore Mac Duggal

at the Miss World competition. She's worn their dresses many times since,

but this fabulous formal wear stood out in our mind. The pastel pink helps

her crown sparkle and Safrit lights up the room in spring elegance.

risks are taken and there's always a pop of color to be seen. Our favorite

We love the zipper detail and her bold bright lip. Victoria Justice was

another fashion favorite. She wore a glittering cocktail dress with a

    Important: Only Buy From

    Reputable Retailers

One of the biggest problems shoppers face is falling for counterfeit

dresses. There are sites out there that use official designer photos

to knock-off popular gowns. Many times, these fake dresses look

nothing like the original. The pattern is completely different and

the seams are guaranteed uneven. We decided to experiment by

ordering a fake to compare. As you scroll through the photos, try

and spot the quality details that make our designer dresses one-of

a-kind. Our designers use quality fabric and create looks that are

    structured to fit your shape.

When it comes to this particular fake, the biggest problem is the

pattern. Where there are florals, there should be polka dots. The

dress also lacks any basic lining or structure. Taking a closer look

and you can see the jagged seams that pucker in front. Every

fashionita loves a good deal, but this is not the place to save. No

one is ever happy with their purchase once this "copy" is delivered.

When browsing a website, make sure that site is accredited by the

Better Business Bureau. You can find our A+ rating at the bottom

    of every page.

    How to Be Photogenic

    How to Be Photogenic

Daily Makeover recently published a long list of tricks to make you

instantly more photogenic. We've gone over the basics on this blog,

but some of the tips stood out as easy to incorporate and important

to remember. Here are a few of our favorites!

#1 Make sure your makeup matches your skin-tone. There's nothing worse

    than a two-toned look.

#2 A photo can highlight flyaways so pat any obvious hairs down with a

    bit of pomade.

#3 Avoid shimmer or sparkle makeup, which can exacerbate shininess.

#4 Bright lipstick will make your teeth look whiter.

#5 Stand in front of a white wall. This helps the camera find the correct

    color balance in the photo.

#6 To avoid a double chin, elongate your neck and push your face forward.

You might feel silly at first, but it really works!

#7 Turn your head to a three-quarter position to give your features depth.

#8 Put your hand on your hip and angle your body toward the camera.

    This elongates your silhouette.

#9 To avoid a blinking photo, close your eyes right before the photo is

taken and open slowly as the camera clicks.

#10 Look toward a light right before someone snaps the photo. Doing

so will shrink your pupils and help you avoid red eye.

#11 Avoid standing in front of direct light. This can cause weird,

    unwanted shadows.

#12 Make sure the photo is taken above you, rather than below. It

makes all the difference in a flattering photo.

#13 Try to think of something funny. A genuine smile always looks gorgeous!

#14 Take a few silly shots. You'll be happy to have the memory.

#15 Last, but not least, take multiple photos. No matter how you pose,

there's bound to be a few photos you really love.

Catch a glimpse of some backstage action with Tadashi Shoji! Eyes

glittered and dresses fluttered at this fabulous fashion show. It's

a lovely sight to see these evening gowns up close. The colors are

wonderfully fall and the details, exquisite. We're especially fond

of the whimsical beauty courtesy of MAC makeup. The gold glitter

compliments the soft colors of the collection. The hair was slicked

Paris Hilton kicked off Fashion Week by attending the amfAR gala. There,

she wore one of our favorite Mac Duggal designs. The long lacy evening

gown looked stunning on the heiress. It was red carpet appropriate with

an elegant feel and lovely, unique details. This classic dress is on every

girl's prom list. It features a sheer neckline with flattering cap sleeves.

Here Hilton is throughout the event with family and friends.

Per usual, Tadashi stayed true to style with beautiful lace details

and long, sweeping silhouettes. He referenced "the beauty of flight"

with gowns that flowed down the runway and a few avian inspired fabrics

and feathers. He created feminine designs with unique details featured

on each and every evening dress. Our favorites include colorful jewel

tones and long, fairy tale silhouettes. We also enjoyed the more modern

The emerald lace was holiday-appropriate and perfectly festive for the

award show fun. Since the event, McKeller has been featured on numerous

lists for best dressed and we couldn't be more proud. She presented an

award with Brantley Gilbert whose fiancée also wore a NewYorkDress

    American Music Awards 2014

We had an easy time gathering fashion favorites for this year's American

Music Awards. The red carpet showed us that Christmas is around the corner!

Nearly every best-dressed star wore some form of holiday dress. From Kylie

Jenner in a lovely berry hue to Jhené Aiko in a bejeweled ballgown, many

stars wore their holiday best. White was a popular choice, along with metallic

gold, which showed up on Jordin Sparks and Olivia Munn. There were many

long, lovely styles, but our favorite short look was the unique dress on

Taylor Schilling. She looked ready for such an event! Stay tuned for red

We were initially inspired by Mira Sorvino to wear more Tadashi lace this

holiday season. Sorvino wore the perfect cocktail dress and now Ciara has

us swooning for a more dramatic look. Ciara attended and performed at the

Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience Gala. There, she wore this gorgeous long

We're obsessed with the beauty of Badgley Mischka Spring 2015! Inspired

by "Marie Antoinette in the East Village," the runway was filled with pastel

brows, hair streaks and a soft, muted lip. Each model was given chic, girly

details with a tough edge. The hair had a downtown feel with tousled texture

year's MTV Video Music Awards. We saw a strong red lip on a variety of

celebs with pink in a close second. Summer sun brought a bronze-y sun-

First for the glam minis featuring Arden Cho and Laverne Cox. Then on

to the elegant red carpet gowns! We love a fabulous lace dress and Beyoncé

brought it, as did Alexandra Shipp. Our designers always create an array

of intricate lace dresses so we were quick to find some marvelous matches.

Our favorite match of the night? Demi Lovato's elegant red dress. Our

version carries a silhouette that is universally flattering.

    Fashion Favorites From The

    Video Music Awards 2014

First of all, a shout-out to Riff Raff and Katy Perry who recreated the

most iconic VMA look of all time: Justin and Britney in head-to-toe denim.

Kudos for this ridiculous, fun ensemble. Let's get down to business on the

actual best-dressed. You can't say Video Music Awards without mentioning

Beyoncé. Not only did she steal the show, but her red carpet game was totally

on point. J.Lo brought the diva, Kelly Rowland was glowing and our personal

favorite was Gwen Stefani who gave us pure Barbie chic. Demi Lovato and Kylie

Jenner brought sophisticated sultriness to the red carpet while Nicki Minaj

stayed in theme with her "Anaconda" look. This year was full of surprises and

many red carpet dresses we wont soon forget!

Our current inspiration comes from this photo shoot in Harper's Bazaar.

The model may look familiar and that's because she's related to fashion

icon Audrey Hepburn. Granddaughter Emma Ferrer, 20, graces the cover of

HB this month in a gorgeously glam photo shoot. She channels her grand-

mother beautifully with feathers, cheekbones and a stylish hat. We're

ever-inspired by Hepburn and it looks like style runs in the family!

It can be utilized in a variety of styles a la Nina Dobrev or Shay Mitchell.

    Old Hollywood Beauty Tricks

Curious about beauty trends of the past? We found a few interesting

tidbits from these Old Hollywood stars. Starting with Elizabeth Taylor,

we found that she never left the house without perfume. She believed

scent was extremely important, which is why she created so many

timeless fragrances. Keep scrolling to find more ways these silver

    screen stars stayed beautiful!

Grace Kelly always chose neutral shades of makeup to enhance her

    natural features.

Sophia Loren ingested two tablespoons of olive oil each day. She

also moisturized with it and added it to a hot bath for a nourishing

    skin soak.

Marlene Dietrich never used mascara on her lower lashes since she

believed it cast a shadow making her look tired.

For luscious locks, Rita Hayworth regularly shampooed her hair with hot

water, saturated it with oil and wrapped it in a towel for 15 minutes.

She'd rinse it out with a cleansing mix of hot water and lemon juice to

    get rid of residue.

Joan Crawford splashed her face with ice cold water 25 times each morning.

Katherine Hepburn exfoliated regularly with a mix of sugar, warm water

and lemon juice, followed by splash of ice-cold water.

Jane Russell always matched her lipstick to her nail polish.

Bette Davis put cucumbers on her eyelids every night before bed and

a layer of petroleum jelly to keep puffiness and dark circles away.

her excitement on Instagram. She thanked Mignon for making her feel like

a "modern day princess" and took part in post-gala cocktails with a few

fabulous friends. It was a fitting end to a glamorous NYC night. She

reminded her followers to "Take a minute before bed to remember:

    Ready For Red Lace?

We're all about lacy red dresses. They just never get old! Whenever we find

a red carpet match, we head straight for Mac Duggal, along with a similar

style from Colors Dress. Paula Patton serves up red hot glamour at the 56th

Annual Pre-Grammy Gala. Although Patton is by Robin Thicke's side at this

event, we're betting this is one gown she'll keep long after the split.

Nothing says "I'm over you" like a plunging neckline and a whole lot of

    lovely red lace.

There was a variety of fashion at this year's IHeart Music Awards. From

guests to performers, each celeb brought their own style to the table. The

big winner of the night was Rhianna who took home four awards! She went all

out with her look in sheer lace and green lips. Some of our fashion favorites

were a bit more subdued, but super stylish none the less. We're loving the

geometric dress on Ashley Greene and the sun-kissed look of Selena Gomez.

Mya stayed peachy while Paris Hilton looked sweet in an A-line silhouette.

Jennifer Lopez stayed true to diva style in a beaded mini while Pia Roscano

    Fashion Favorites From The

    Met Gala 2014

The Met Gala is the biggest fashion event of the year! Sure, the Oscars

are swell, but this high-profile party is where celebs let loose and take

a few fashion risks on the red carpet. The theme this year is "White Tie

and Diamonds,"a far cry from last's year's punk theme. We're all about glam

so get ready for epic gowns and fantastic couture. The gala celebrates the

opening of the exhibit "Charles James: Beyond Fashion." The late designer

is less well-known than some, but among fashion circles, is revered for his

    influential work.

At the top of our fashion favorites is Janelle Monae in Tadashi Shoji. We

witnessed that epic cape on the runway and seeing Monae bring it to life

was a total fashion wonder. The rest of our "best dressed" range from epic

ballgowns to body-con silhouettes. We even spotted more than a few high-

end crop tops! The biggest surprise of the night? Comedian Sarah Silverman

who nailed it in a gorgeous wine-colored dress and soft, subtle makeup.

Tadashi Shoji. “I am honored to work with June on her Oscar gown," Tadashi

said. "The silhouette is elegant and the deep emerald, hand-beaded lace brings

out her eyes." We couldn't agree more!

Marci Cooperstein, vice-president of programming at ABC Family, was radiant in

THEIA while Nancy O'Dell acted as host in a shimmery Mac Duggal design. Both

ladies looked absolutely fabulous! Tadashi, Mac Duggal and THEIA showed up in

at a variety of Oscar parties, with each guest looking lovelier than the next.
