Hair Lightening

When it comes to hair, there’s a million and one products on the market that can lighten your hair from bleach to henna to sprays. If you’re a bit weary of using chemicals in your hair, you might be happy to find that a little cinnamon can do the trick. That’s right, cinnamon isn’t just for confectioner’s purposes. Here’s how to delightfully lighten your hair with cinnamon. Seriously, is there any better smelling way to change your hair color?

You’ll Need

-a dime size amount of conditioner
-a hair brush
-ground cinnamon
-shower cap (optional)

Start off by spritzing your hair with water, and working conditioner through the strands. The conditioner is to help the cinnamon stick to your hair while conditioning it.
*Don’t drench your hair with water because the cinnamon will drip off the ends.

Put five tablespoons into a mixing bowl and add equal parts of water to it, mixing with your fingers until all parts of the cinnamon are absorbed into the water. Make sure there are no clumps left-this will serve for better application.

Work the mixture through your hair. You can clip your hair into sections with clips and work it through with a brush. Repeat this process until your entire hair is covered with the mixture. Combing your hair through will help eliminate any hair tangles.

Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave on for about four hours. The longer you leave it on your hair, the more effective it will be. Afterwards, rinse your hair out with cold water, shampoo and rinse. Voila!
