This was designer Katya Leoneivch’s first season to be showing at New York Fashion Week. According to Leonevich, her inspiration for her collection was “the metamorphises of the human body.” The collection started off with an array of grays and morphed into hues of blue, green, pinks and purples. The butterfly sleeves Leonovich used also played along with her theme of a metamorphisis. There were many different styles, textures and cuts in the show, from soft printed flowing satins to hard corsets paired with crinkled chiffon skirts. Then came the pieces that caught everyones attention: dresses with the faces of presidential candidates Barack Obama and Mitt Romney printed on either side.
