Fashion never sleeps and certainly a little snow didn’t frighten the magnitude of stylists,
editors, photographers, bloggers and celebrities strutting toward their seats for the
Thomas Wylde Fall/Winter 2016 Runway show during NYFW.
The venue was all the historical glamour, situated inside the Skylight at Moynihan
Station Postal?Office. The interior arrangement was quite pristine, with a TRESemmé
hair bar – in case one needs a quick blow-dry restyling before the next show. An “E!”
sponsored interactive runway where everyone can record, email and share their 8
seconds of runway spotlight. While waiting for the Thomas Wylde show to begin, I
relaxed and sipped on a tall glass of water in a press designated lounge, vibrantly
decorated with framed provocative editorials of supermodels Kate Moss, Joan Smalls,
Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington. I felt like I was sitting in my dream living
room decorated with lush contemporary decor provided courtesy of Fendi Casa, with
exotic fur covered sofas, pillows in zebra and bright yellow rabbit skins.

Once inside the “The Dock” the fashion show was soon to begin: the lights dimmed,
high-energy music started to play and the first model emerged with a so much passion in
her walk one could feel her energy across the room. She was wearing a vibrant crimson
fur-collared cashmere cape. The new Thomas Wylde “90291” & “Through the Looking
Glass” Capsule collection – collaboration with Walt Disney was definitely something out
of a fairy tale. I loved the collection which followed a “Red, White and Black” color
scheme, and included menswear tailored coats with embellished sleeves, capes, and
cocktail dresses with plunging V neckline. The models clad in the eclectic glamorous
collection emerged one by one for the runway finale. They paced down the runway
together as the audience applauded the designer as she bowed in gratitude at the head of
the runway.
After the show I went backstage and was happy to meet the creative director of Thomas
Wylde – Jene Park. I compliment her on the incredible designs, collection and show.
Jene Park was quite bubbly, excited and thrilled at the response she received, giving
interviews to press and posing for photos. The event was star studded including
attending celebrities Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussycat Dolls, Olivia Culpo, Nicky
Hilton, Chantel Jeffries, Karrueche Tran, Jane Notar whom all came to show their
support wearing designs from the Thomas Wylde collection.

It was an amazing treat to attend the Thomas Wylde show – a Special Thank you to
NewYorkDress.com for this treat. NYFW is always such an exciting and thrilling time of
the year, during which all the fashion devotees and professionals come together in
celebration and support of the new collections. I will admit NYFW feels like New Years
Eve, but better because it happens twice a year and the thrill can be relived with each
collection shown.
Happy Fashion Week darlings!
