The first clue arrived in all-out glamour as Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie and Leighton Meester wowed us with their drawn out elegance at the Golden Globes. Following suit came the A/W 11 -12 fashion shows where Lanvin, Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent expanded on the theme with inspired variations for the runway. But when Kate Middleton arrived at Westminster Abbey in full length gorgeousness, the deal was sealed. Long-sleeve dresses are in!
Totally tasteful and completely chic, long sleeves provide the perfect balance to a sexy frock. It’s a refreshing response to the overly revealing dresses that sometimes plague the red carpet. Though several designers including Tory Burch, Rag & Bone and Pamella Roland went gorilla style for Fall with fur sleeves, there was a bevy of others who kept their sleeves clean.
