Last Sunday night was a buzz of energy as I arrived at Spring Studios, invitation in hand, for the NYFW presentation of Portia & Scarlett. I've coveted their sexy Australian designs for awhile now, so I could not wait to see what they had in store for the next season. And I was not disappointed! All of their signatures were on display; sparkles, sexy silhouettes, over-skirts, sheer panels, ball gowns...the list goes on and on. A one sleeved mock turtleneck with an asymmetrical hem was the standout piece of the collection. Adorned with beads and jewel clusters this piece had a Dolce & Gabanna meets Balmain aesthetic. Another stand out piece closed the show, a white rhinestone mermaid gown with a feather skirt. A bridal dress is a traditional ending to a fashion show, however this was no traditional bride.
